Turning Plastic into Fuel

Plastic Pollution in Uganda

Uganda generates about 600,000 tonnes of plastic waste every year. Only about 9% of this plastic waste is recycled, with most ending up in landfills or polluting the environment. Plastic pollution harms wildlife, contaminates water sources, and clogs drainage systems, increasing the risk of floods.

Our Zero Waste Initiative addresses the major problem of plastic pollution in Uganda by turning plastic waste into useful fuel. This project helps clean the environment and provides a new, eco-friendly energy source.

Our Work
  • Plastic Banks. We've placed collection points in public places to make recycling easier.

  • Community Education. We teach people why recycling is important and how plastic pollution harms the environment.

  • Sustainable Housing. We build houses for refugees and displaced people using recycled plastics, creating safe and eco-friendly homes.

We're making it happen

Our Impact
  • Industries have used our fuel in factories and manufacturing plants.

  • Transportation- Alternative fuel for vehicles.

  • Households- Replaces kerosene and other fuels, particularly in rural areas dependent on non-renewable sources.

We've converted over 5,000 tonnes of plastic waste into cleaner fuel, reducing harmful emissions and pollution. Our fuel is 80% cleaner than traditional fuels, with fewer pollutants like sulfur and nitrogen oxides.
